Reportedly, Izzy began composing the song during a five-year stay in sunny southern California, where he was working on films, and finished it after returning to New York. Some of the many artists-besides Crosby-who recorded “White Christmas” include Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Ella Fitzgerald, Willie Nelson, Fats Domino, and Michael Bolton.

More than 30 million copies of “White Christmas,” composed by a Russian-born Jew named Izzy Baline, have been sold worldwide. But Izzy Baline is not the name under which he published his music. Professionally, he used a different name, one he adopted when very young. We know him as Irving Berlin.

I was wondering if the Ghostface mask, the mask the killer in horror movie scream is wearing, started being made after the movie or was it a popular Halloween mask even before the movie, which came out in 1996? In the movie one of the characters says you could buy the costume everywhere in the country, but was that just the gimmick in the movie or reality?

My sister and I want to get corresponding costumes from an action or horror movie, but we don’t know what movie we should pick. I was thinking about being Erin and my sister being Pepper from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. But Pepper’s costume shows too much skin for my sister’s taste. When we were younger, there were several items as a child I can remember that we would play with and hang on to especially if we got the attention from our friends. The first thing was a hula hoop because there was always a competition on who could keep it going the longest. The second thing was a cape because we could become multiple characters with it, such as, a magician, Superman, and a vampire. The third thing was a top hat and if it was collapsible that was even better because we could hide things in it, we could pull things from it, and with the cape we became the magician and everyone wanted to be entertained and see a trick whether you knew how to do one or not.

There are only a few times that you normally see a top hat and the first is in a magic show on the magician and they use it as part of their props, the second in on a dancer like Fred Astaire in an old movie, and the third time is a plastic one celebrating New Year’s Eve. They have character and transform you as soon as you put it on. Some have slight designs to them, but for the most part they are straight forward and straight up. Have you ever seen them roll the top hat down their arm or flip it to a hat rack?

If I were to close my eyes and describe the costume of a magician to someone I would say black shoes, pants, bow tie, and cape, then a white shirt finished with a black top hat. What would your description be? Although, I have to admit that the Illusionists of today vary in their clothing like Copperfield and Angel. Vitelli is still seen in black, but, if you go visit the streets of Las Vegas you will see every color in the book.

What is the first trick you remember the magician uses the top hat for? Pulling a rabbit out of the hat and what about when they pour milk into it and then turn it upside down and it is empty… that still makes me clap. I guess the top hat will always be the symbol for a magician in my book.

Well for my sweet 16 i want it to like involve freddy,jason,or michael. or all of them. but i need cool ideas on what to do. i was thinking of maybe getting the script to one of the movies and buying costumes for everyone and spend my whole party budget for props and film and stuff but just like remake the movie… or have some kind of like murder mystery but idk what to do please leave your ideas ad be very detailed… also possibly a way i can contact you for more info if i need it…

While that’s a cool idea, I don’t know if all of your friends are going to want to dress up and put on a movie, you know? I’d do a murder mystery dinner. They’re pretty cool. Also, the older scary movies really aren’t that scary anymore. Maybe something like the Prom Night remake, or The Ring, etc.

This outfit would look great teamed with black feathered wings, black stockings and black sculptured horror nails. Another “fallen angel” outfit I have spotted on the internet is a one-piece dark angel fancy dress costume, which consists of a gathered “Spandex” mini tube dress with built-in petticoat. The great thing about dresses like these is their versatility, as they can be worn on their own for a night out, so you are getting excellent value for money.

If you want to dress as a “good” angel, you can look heavenly in a variety of white, pastel pink, gold or silver dresses, with matching wings and halos. An array of accessories, ranging from stockings and tights, to gloves, belts and sparkling body paint, will complement your angel fancy dress costume and ensure that you have a birthday party to remember.

What Are Some Good Halloween Costumes For Me??
No witches, ghosts, skeletons, pumpkins or anything common. No Princess costumes or animals (like a cute cat, but no). Nothing like a character from Hairpray, harry Potter, or High School Musical/Camp Rock. Nothing horror or adult-ish. No fairies. Something unusual and unique. I am 12.
Once I was a pumpkin, it was cute! And a candy corn!
Those are cool, and un-common.
This costume should be unusual but on a website or in a catalog.

One idea is to dress in black with a green top and maybe green face paint and then tie a bunch of purple balloons to you and go as a bunch of grapes. (you could also use colored balloons and go as jellybeans) another idea is to dress in really un-matched clothing with a sash like one miss america wears and have it say “miss matched”

How to Organize a Halloween Party…

If you’re not on Trick or Treat duty and throwing a monster bash instead, here are some tips on how to organize a Halloween party:

1) Pick a Theme. Will it be monsters, movie characters, celebrities, pirates, or a free for all? Depending on whether you are having a children’s or adult party, will help to determine the theme. If hosting a children’s party, be sure to have plenty of parental supervision. And if you decide ‘costumes required’ party or casual.

2) Invitations. Make a guest list and send out invitations 2 weeks before the party. Choose invitations that will go along with your theme and get creative. You can save time and money and buy invites from your local party supply store or have some fun and make them yourself. Remember to keep it simple and be budget conscious. E-mails are also a fast, easy, and eco-friendly way to send out invites. Be sure to specify details about the party. Indicate if it is an adult, children’s or all ages party. If it is going to be a themed party, make sure to include instructions regarding costumes and if they are required. Don’t forget to include directions to the party, beginning and ending times and any special announcements such as costume contests.

3) Décor. Prepare your decorations 1 week before the party. Buy them from a party store, OR make them yourself. Give your self enough time to decorate. Depending on the complexity of your decorations, begin decorating the day before, or have some guests arrive early the day of to help out. One of my favorite décor pieces this season are the Oversized Paper Jack-O-Lanterns. The set of 3 are perfect for indoors or under the moonlight and collapse down flat so when not in use they can be easily stored.  Additional decoration tricks are throwing some white sheets over furniture to give an abandoned look. Replace regular light bulbs with black lights and red or green bulbs. Fog machines or dry ice in hot water always set a spooky mood. Fake spider webs are inexpensive and go a long way when decorating for Halloween and don’t forget the classic black and orange helium balloons to add instant spirit to your home.

4) Food and Drinks. Decide what type of food you will be providing and if you will provide a buffet table, simple refreshments and finger foods, delivery/take out or a potluck. Drinks will depend whether it is a children’s or adult party. Wine, cocktails, beer or a special Witch’s Brew is always fun! Drinks for the little ones can include fruit punch, soda, juice or a non-alcoholic Witch’s Brew. The perfect ice bucket or party tub can help you’re your drinks ice cold and refreshing the whole night through. And what’s a Halloween party without sweet treats? The dessert table should include cupcakes, cookies, ice cream, pumpkin pie and a bowl of candy. Whether young or old, it’s always a good thank your guests with a goody bag full of treats and party favors

5) Party Games. Depending on the crowd, you may want to plan and organize games for your party that are age appropriate and fun for everyone! Make the games more appealing with door prizes for all the winners.

6) Music. Set the perfect atmosphere with the right music and sounds. Buy or make a soundtrack for your party. Look for creepy and eerie sounds like screams, ghoulish grunts, creaking doors and more! Throw some fun and nostalgia into the mix with some classic Halloween songs like Monster Mash by Bobbie Boris Pickett & The Crypt-Kickers, Thriller by Michael Jackson, the Ghostbusters theme song by Ray Parker Jr., the Twilight Zone theme song by Neil Norman & His Cosmic Orchestra, The Addams Family theme song by Vic Mizzy, The Munsters theme song, Put A Spell On You by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, Dead Man’s Party by Oingo Boingo and the ever so popular Time Warp from The Rocky Horror Picture Show Soundtrack.

7) Clean Up. After the party is over, it’s time to clean up the mess! Have some friends help you out and make sure you have all the essential tools and accessories. Large trash bags (don’t forget to recycle!), large trash can, broom and dust pan, rubber gloves, bucket, caddy, sponges, scrubbers (for the sticky messes), cleaning towels, and an all purpose cleaner.

Storage. Store your Halloween decorations in plastic bins, lidded boxes and storage bags to keep them in great shape for next year!

My Daughter once had a sleep over party with about 9 girls watching Horror Movies all between the ages of 14 – 16. I went out and Bought a 7′ and a half Foot Monster costume. also because halloween was coming up to. (see Pic)

I creeped up to the front and scratched on the door with a homemade battleaxe. You should of heard the commotion ofwho was gonna go to the door lol. at first they Locked it but finally got brave enough to open it. When I went In I had to duck under the door but when I stood up Lmao I saw One of the Girls Jumped over the back of the love seat from a laying down position. The Dog ran away barking all the way down the hall. My wife was laffing at the dog when she went sliding under the bed in the back bedroom and thumped into the wall :p Course everybody was screaming!
and of course None of them have ever forgotten it :p

No!! It was only a joke! And a funny one at that! I’m sure the girls didn’t like it. But hey you shoudlve video taped it! It wouldve been more funny that way you could watch again!. lol!! sooo funny!

Another idea if all else fails is wear an all pink sweat suit or outfit and tie a shoe to your head and you can be bubble gum on the bottom of a shoe.

Do you think that the Scream movies are scary?

I don’t know why it is, but I get absolutely terrified when I watch any of the Scream movies(and I watch them A LOT since their my all time favorite horror/suspense movies)! The idea of a killer in that costume freaks the crap out of me. I LOVE the movies. Everyone else thinks they aren’t scary, but instead, actually funny! Maybe its just me, but I honestly think of Ghostface killing me way more than any other horror movie killer. So, do you think the Scream trilogy is scary? I’m 15 by the way.

PS- which movie is your favorite? I love the original. Can’t wait for Scream 4!!

Is it good to hide under someones bed?

I have this idea for a girl I used to go out with a long time ago. It is her birthday in April and I want to surprise her.

I am not sure how she still feels about me, but I left the country for a couple of years and lost contact with almost everyone, because I wanted to be left alone.

Anyway, she is a fan of horror movies, so I thought I would scare and impress her, by secretly entering her place (she knows only I know how to enter the place with a credit card). So I was thinking of hiding under her bed until she falls asleep then moaning softly till I hear her waking then be silent again.

Then after a couple of hours doing a really loud evil laugh and jumping on the bed while wearing a costume. Would this impress her or will she call the police?

Obviously I would take the mask off to let her know it was me and it was just a surprise.
